Desde su carrera de ingenier\u00eda en la industria petrolera hasta la apertura de Lovie Bakery, Yamila no deja de deleitarnos y asombrarnos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nombre<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;  Yamila A. Orrego<br \/>\n<strong>Ciudad natal<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;  Buenos Aires, Argentina<br \/>\n<strong>Ciudad actual<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;  Houston<br \/>\n<strong>Curso de estudios<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;  Diploma de \u00c9lite en Pasteler\u00eda<br \/>\n<strong>A\u00f1o de graduaci\u00f3n<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;  2017<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Vive una vida en la que puedas ayudar a los dem\u00e1s y todo lo dem\u00e1s saldr\u00e1 bien.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es su historia?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Soy ingeniero graduado de la Universidad de Buenos Aires y he trabajado 17 a\u00f1os en la industria petrolera en varios pa\u00edses del mundo antes de establecerme en Houston en 2008.&nbsp;  Durante la recesi\u00f3n de 2016, decid\u00ed tomarme un descanso y hacer un curso de reposter\u00eda de 10 semanas sin titulaci\u00f3n. Pero result\u00f3 que me gustaba tanto que no pod\u00eda parar. Despu\u00e9s me matricul\u00e9 en todo el programa y me gradu\u00e9 en octubre de 2017. Durante mis pr\u00e1cticas en una pasteler\u00eda local especializada en tartas de boda, me di cuenta de que hab\u00eda m\u00e1s demanda de la que Houston pod\u00eda satisfacer. Tard\u00e9 unos meses en organizarme, establecer contactos y practicar, practicar y practicar un poco m\u00e1s. Finalmente, lanc\u00e9 mi negocio, Lovie Bakery, a principios de 2018. A\u00fan me queda mucho camino por recorrer, \u00a1aprender y crear! Dar lo mejor de m\u00ed misma cada d\u00eda es sin duda lo que me hace seguir adelante. Tambi\u00e9n me intriga ver c\u00f3mo se desarrolla mi pasi\u00f3n por la reposter\u00eda y el negocio que la rodea.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-18592\" src=\"https:\/\/culinaryinstitute.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Lovie-Bakery-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"267\"><\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u00bfA qu\u00e9 se dedicaba antes de estudiar cocina? \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 eligi\u00f3 el CIL?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Yo era ingeniero y trabajaba en la industria petrolera, sentado en una oficina todo el d\u00eda. \u00a1Ahora nunca me siento! Bueno, \u00a1s\u00f3lo a veces a primera hora de la ma\u00f1ana o a \u00faltima de la noche! Recuerdo que cuando a\u00fan trabajaba en una empresa, so\u00f1aba despierta con tomarme un a\u00f1o sab\u00e1tico e irme a Francia a ser pastelera. Por aquel entonces no ten\u00eda ni idea de que hubiera una colegio universitario de franc\u00e9s aqu\u00ed mismo, en Houston.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>&nbsp;\u00bfQu\u00e9 le inspir\u00f3 para convertirse en chef? \u00bfC\u00f3mo fue su camino hasta convertirse en chef?  <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Mi pasi\u00f3n por la reposter\u00eda. Siempre he horneado desde muy peque\u00f1a junto con mi madre. Mi madre nunca med\u00eda los ingredientes; de hecho, \u00a1ni siquiera ten\u00eda una b\u00e1scula! Sus tartas estaban deliciosas, pero mi mente de ingeniera me dir\u00eda que tener una b\u00e1scula era probablemente lo correcto.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo describir\u00eda el impacto de sus cursos en el CIL en su vida?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Me encant\u00f3 el ambiente de la colegio universitario, los estudiantes y los chefs. Es muy divertido y motivador. Lo que m\u00e1s apreci\u00e9 fue estar en una sala con gente haciendo lo que realmente les gusta. Nunca lo hab\u00eda experimentado en mi vida profesional.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es el mejor recuerdo que guarda de la colegio universitario?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Nivel 1 y 2 con el Chef Yann Migault. Me ense\u00f1\u00f3 lo b\u00e1sico de todo y lo que significaba ser un pastelero profesional. \u00a1Una vez me hizo rehacer la crema pastelera 3 veces!&nbsp;  En otra ocasi\u00f3n termin\u00e9 de glasear un pastel y no estaba perfecto, pero le dije que era \u00absuficientemente bueno\u00bb y que no pod\u00eda hacer nada m\u00e1s con \u00e9l. Fui a buscar algo a la nevera y cuando volv\u00ed vi que me hab\u00eda estropeado toda la crema de mantequilla de encima de la tarta. Entonces me dijo \u00abs\u00ed, puedes hacer otra cosa con \u00e9l, \u00a1puedes rehacerlo!\u00bb. Y lo hice. \u00a1\u00a1\u00a1Y sali\u00f3 perfecto!!!<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n guardo un gran recuerdo de los alumnos que conoc\u00ed en mi clase. Nos ayudamos mucho y nos divertimos mucho. Me encanta la combinaci\u00f3n de crema mousseline y fresas. Y le doy mi toque personal cuando lo decoro.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u00bfAlguna palabra de sabidur\u00eda o consejo para nuestros estudiantes actuales y futuros que sue\u00f1an con una historia de \u00e9xito como la suya?  <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Si realmente te apasiona la reposter\u00eda, no te rindas aunque creas que no tienes las habilidades adecuadas, al final las tendr\u00e1s. Lleva tiempo y mucho trabajo. Si hay algo que no sabes hacer bien, practica cien veces y lo har\u00e1s bien. Aprenda de los mejores, lea, lea y lea un poco m\u00e1s.
