La gala, que se celebr\u00f3 el d\u00eda de San Valent\u00edn en el ilustre River Oaks Country Club, es el \u00fanico acto de recaudaci\u00f3n de fondos del a\u00f1o para la organizaci\u00f3n sin \u00e1nimo de lucro. Todos los franc\u00f3filos m\u00e1s estimados de Houston acudieron con sus atuendos de etiqueta. La velada consisti\u00f3 en subastas silenciosas y en vivo, lo que permiti\u00f3 a los generosos invitados ser a\u00fan m\u00e1s generosos. La subasta inclu\u00eda un crucero al atardecer para 15 personas en el yate de Bill King y una estancia de una semana en la villa de la playa de Lenotre, en Pietrosella (C\u00f3rcega). Dos antiguos alumnos del CIL subastaron tambi\u00e9n sus servicios de catering para una fiesta privada de 8 personas. Estudiantes y cocineros trabajaron juntos durante semanas preparando espectaculares esculturas de chocolate que tambi\u00e9n se subastaron durante la gala.
