Meet CULINARY INSTITUTE LENOTRE® Students
At the CULINARY INSTITUTE LENOTRE® college, you will make connections that last a lifetime. Your classmates will come from all over the U.S. and around the world, and you will form friendships that will become the basis for your professional network. Look over the portraits of some of our students.
An Active Student Life
The Student Life Department offers opportunities to have fun, make friends, develop your leadership and interpersonal skills — and learn from students from different backgrounds. What activities will you participate in?
International Students
We take pride in all the international cultures that together strengthen the CULINARY INSTITUTE LENOTRE® educational programs. Multiculturalism always creates amazing results in the culinary field. See what it takes to apply if you are an international student!
Online Classes. Hands-On Labs
Reach your education goals in just two years with most academic courses offered online. Then, choose to take morning, afternoon, or evening labs at our Houston Campus. Online courses are live-streamed according to the scheduled time, and students can ask questions in classes.
Unlike so many culinary schools that only think about profit margins, the CULINARY INSTITUTE LENOTRE® focus is to welcome the culinary experts of tomorrow into our international family of renowned chefs, hospitality workers and sommeliers.
There can be no second best with a name like Lenotre. That is why our Houston culinary school attracts so many talented, hard-working individuals who join our training program and make us proud with the incredible careers they build for themselves.

Get involved, make new friends, and enjoy your time as a student!
Competitions & Demos
There is always a reason for students and chefs to showcase their many talents! Our students and chefs participate in many professional culinary contests, such as the yearly Ben E. Keith Competition (organized by the American Culinary Federation) and the Martin’s Food Show Contest. These times of the year are very special to students, offering them an opportunity to be part of the CULINARY INSTITUTE LENOTRE® team. Individual and group prizes are awarded, creating a close-knit community!
The Student Life Department organizes a Student Appreciation Day every term. This is our opportunity to say “we love you” to our students. All day long students join the party and enjoy games, music, food and contests.
Students’ Weekly Presentations
Every Thursday, students present their food to their classmates in the North Building Dining Room. At noon, 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., all chefs and students taste dishes as they enjoy dinner in a family style setting. It’s the perfect opportunity to share experiences and techniques and expand your pallet.
Social Media Community
All students are encouraged to join the independent Facebook Group, CULINARY INSTITUTE LENOTRE® Students. This is a group for our students to share stories and information about the school. Add your fellow classmates to the group. The group is student-managed and independent from the administration.
Student Life Events
We want to make the time students are in school meaningful and enjoyable. Student Life hosts social and educational events throughout the year that are free and open to all students. Take a look at our pictures for a taste of the fun and follow us on social media for all event updates!
Students prepare and showcase dishes for a prestigious jury. The graduation ceremony includes speeches from Alain Lenotre, founder of the school, the director of academics and from a couple of graduating students. Graduates receive their diploma and a toque de chef and take pictures with their families. The graduation ceremony is followed by a buffet reception in the school for family and friends.
Diplomas and degrees can be awarded with honors: Gold (GPA: 3.6 to 4.0), Silver (GPA: 3.2 to 3.59) or Bronze (GPA: 2.80 to 3.19).
In addition to the many resources available to students from our various student services departments, there is a student lounge providing complimentary coffee, tea and fresh fruit daily for students to enjoy while on campus. We also offer free WIFI access to all of our students on both of our campuses.
