About this Program

The Associate of Applied Science in Baking and Pastry Arts Program trains students in the fundamental skills of classical and modern pastries, bread, cake, ice cream and confections.

This program is also designed to prepare students in leadership, supervision, marketing, service, and management skills within the hospitality industry.

Time to complete the program in regular schedule: 100 weeks
Full time schedule: 4 hours a day, 4 days a week
Three shifts to choose from: morning, afternoon and evening classes
Two shifts for academic classes
Choose between two days per week (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) and two shifts per day (morning or afternoon).

The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts program considerably increases the opportunity for you to begin your own business whether it is a bakery or catering. Graduates may also take positions as pastry cooks and bakers, leading to positions as pastry sous chef, executive pastry sous chefs and pastry chefs. Also, catering assistant managers in hotels, restaurants, bakeries, country clubs and positions in institutional food services such as schools, hospitals, and commercial businesses are also available.
