Today is New Student Orientation day! We’re thrilled to welcome a new batch of future chefs to our culinary community! Here’s to new skills, new friendships, and the start of an incredible career journey.
We’re proud to shine the spotlight on Alicia Orellana, our Director of Admissions, and her 12 incredible years at CIL! Alicia is a trusted higher education leader who helps students confidently choose the right culinary program to match their goals and passions. Through thoughtful guidance, strong leadership, and a student-first approach, she continues to shape futures and strengthen our admissions team and the communities we serve.
Outside of the school, Alicia is an avid traveler who loves immersing herself in local cultures and cuisines. Though she isn’t a chef herself, she does love trying new recipes and enjoying delicious meals with friends and family.
When asked about her thoughts on LENOTRE she believes that our school is the perfect blend of hands-on experience and creative freedom. Advice she’d give to any potential new student: "If you stay humble, stay curious, and stay consistent, you’ll build a strong foundation for a successful culinary career."

“Since an early age, I have always been fascinated by cooking, restaurants, and the world of hospitality. I graduated from LENOTRE in December 2023. I went straight into working at @mastrosofficial, where I started building my foundation in a professional kitchen. After that, I had the great opportunity to travel to Spain and learn from @ger_carrizo at his Michelin-starred restaurant @fierrovlc, where I was introduced to fine dining that blends Argentinian and Spanish cuisine. I’m currently working at @lejardinierhouston, where I continue to grow and learn every day. Throughout this whole time, I’ve also had the pleasure of supporting @katyringfood, helping with a variety of catering events.”
